Hysteroscopy is a minimal invasive surgical method for viewing the inside of the uterus including the openings to the fallopian tubes, as well as direct examination of the cervix, cervical canal and the vagina.
A narrow instrument is placed into the uterine cavity through the vagina to remove the fibroids, septum and polyps from the uterus.
It only takes 60-90 minutes to complete by following 3 hours rest after hysteroscopy. Patients are shortly discharged home.
Patients can walk, swim and can do all the regular activities after 3 weeks after laparoscopy.During surgery, the tube put in patient's throat to breathe properly, may give her a sore throat.
It is very normal to have a sore belly, cramping, feeling tired or pain around the cuts after surgery. Patients may feel better after 4-5 days and need the medicine to control pain for a few days.
Vaginal bleeding up to one month after surgery is normal. Patients may notice heavy bleeding and some discomfort. Some of them may have their next normal menstrual cycle returns after one to one and a half months.
Although it is a painless procedure to view the inside of the uterus, but it also may include some complications to some of the patients.
Some patients may Scarring of the uterus, heavy bleeding, a reaction to anaesthesia, fever, chills or severe pain. The patient should contact the doctor immediately if they experience any of the complications.
